About Agility Nuts
Pen and Paul are agility enthusiasts who wish to encourage safe development, enjoyment and a high level of proficiency in the sport of dog agility.
The training is primarily run by Pen who is an Agility Club Approved Instructor. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (MAPDT No. 1124) and the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers and so all training methods used are positive and reward based with emphasis on fun and enjoyment for both handler and dog. Pen is a member of the Kennel Club Accreditation Scheme for Instructors and obtained an MA Professional Practice in Canine Training, Agility & Sports Behaviour in 2014. She makes a point of keeping abreast with modern training techniques and attends local and national training seminars. She has represented Great Britain in the FMBB (Belgian Shepherd) World Championships.
Pen is assisted by her husband Paul, who has also competed for Great Britain at the FMBB World Championships and is part of the management team for the Senior GB Agility Team. Both Pen and Paul are accredited Kennel Club agility judges.
"We have over 15 years' experience of competing in agility, judging and running shows. We wish to share our enthusiasm whether you are simply looking for a fun activity with your dog, wish to take part in agility competition or are already competing. We are dedicated to promoting the safe practice of dog agility and we encourage agility training for most breeds of dog."
Agility Nuts run a popular summer series of independent agility shows to encourage handlers to start competing with their dogs. In September 2011 we hald our first Kennel Club licensed agility show which has now been extended to 5 shows per year.
